Off the beaten track - yet easy to reach

Stillbay is blessed with a moderate climate and the fresh unpolluted air is due to a gentle breeze blowing from the placid ocean. This area receives rain almost equally in all four seasons with peaks in autumn and spring. Temperatures fluctuate between 20 °C and 28 ºC average in summer and between 12 ºC and 20 ºC on average in winter. Rainfall averages 639,2 mm per annum.

Stillbay is off the beaten track – yet only three and a half hours scenic drive from Cape Town through the countryside, flanked by majestic mountain ranges, sweeping wheat lands, forrests, lakes and quaint little towns. You get to Stillbay turning off the N2 highway at the Stillbay signpost, between Riversdale and Albertinia and driving south on the R305. After 26 km the road crosses the only bridge over the Goukou river and ends in the Bay Of Sleeping Beauty, Stillbay.

South African Airways and many national carriers fly regularly to nearby George. From here you can reach Stillbay within one and a half hours by car via the N2 direction to Mossel Bay / Cape Town. A small landing strip in Stillbay East can be used by private planes.
